The International Canadian Martial Arts Federation (ICMAF) is proud to announce the launch of the ICMAF Sports Academy in Halifax, Nova Scotia—serving all ages, genders, and abilities with a wide range of fitness, martial arts, and self-defence programs.
Led by internationally recognized instructors with over 35 years of experience, the Academy will operate out of the new MMA Building and Sabeel, in partnership with local communities and Islamic societies.

Whether you’re interested in martial arts, fitness, self-defence, or specialized training, our programs are designed to meet you where you are—and help you grow from there.
Structured martial arts instruction with fitness preparation, skill development, and formal belt grading. Open to all levels, starting with Karate. Tang Soo Do will be offered for females only classes.
8 sessions/month - Twice per week

Specific Phase: Martial arts skill development
Assessment Phase: Formal belt grading, including preparation for black belt
A 12-week, progressive training plan designed to improve strength, flexibility, and endurance. Includes a personalized assessment, custom fitness plan, and final evaluation to track progress.
Full-Body Fitness Program (12 Weeks) - $150/month. 8 sessions/month - Twice per week
A progressive 3-phase system designed to build lasting health and endurance:
Initial assessment (body composition, flexibility, strength, endurance)

Final evaluation and program adjustment for continued growth
Inclusive training for athletes with special needs, led by internationally experienced coaches. Programs include Para Karate and accessible fitness for physical, visual, or cognitive challenges.
Specialized instruction is available for individuals with:
8 sessions/month - Twice per week
Physical challenges (e.g. paraplegia), Visual impairments (e.g. partial or total blindness), Mental or developmental disabilities (e.g. Down syndrome)

Strength training programs offered in small groups or private sessions. Designed to help participants improve power, muscle tone, and overall conditioning through guided resistance training.

A fast-paced, high-reflex sport that sharpens concentration and coordination while improving physical fitness.
Short, practical courses focused on real-world self-defence scenarios, such as grabs, pushes, and knife threats. Female-only courses are taught by female instructors in a safe, empowering environment.
General Courses: Open to all family members
Women’s Courses: Taught by female instructors
Formats include intensive 3–5 day camps or weekend sessions
Multi-day camps that combine martial arts, fitness, soccer, swimming, and more. Organized in collaboration with local mosques as part of community-wide seasonal activities.
Endurance-focused training combining swimming, cycling, and running—offered as a structured continuous program.
